This piece was inspired by a branch I picked up during a walk. She (for I feel compelled to call this branch 'her') is graceful and beautiful. Despite being dried out, her curves still embody the resilience of life, subtly hinting at a Buddhist essence, resembling the branch held by a Bodhisattva. With reverence, I have preserved her beauty eternally in metal.
I often wander the streets late at night to observe the scenes that can only be seen at night. Plants and people are hidden in the blackness of the night, their forms blurred and colors subdued, revealing a gentle yet mysterious presence. This ever-changing black and the silvery moonlight fill me with endless imagination for the deep night. In my work, I have combined the unique metal colors produced by the Japanese irogane technique with the scenery of the night.
