Lacquer, glass, gold powder, abalone shell

Many of the decorative techniques in the field of lacquer art have been applied to black painted surfaces that have the effect of emphasizing their brilliance. However, in order to express the soft light and depth by the decoration technique, I chose translucent glass and promoted the production by combining the decorative technique of lacquer art and glass.

In this work, we increased the thickness and size of the glass body and decorated the whole surface to express a space with depth.

In the decoration, we used a lot of lacquer paintings as well as the previous work, and used various techniques such as some shellfish and gold and silver makie.

I believe that by rubbing a lacquer painting on a thick translucent glass body, it is possible to express the soft light and depth that was intended.
