"Teinei" (Diligence)

Calligraphy Work “Teinei” by Suzuki Mohri

Calligraphy by Suzuki Mohri, presented with exquisite mounting craftsmanship by Mr. Kishinoden.

Height 1080 mm x Width 340 mm

Materials: Wood, Japanese paper, mineral pigments
Weight: 800 g

This work is by calligrapher Mouri Suzuki. The striped fabric used in this piece is an old material about 100 years old. After consulting with Mr. Suzuki, we used some of the fabric he had collected. We hope this hanging scroll enriches the room it is displayed in.

Message from Suzuki Mohri:

■ “Teinei” (Attentiveness)

Make good use of your time.
And at the same time, choose to move through things slowly and deliberately.

Unfortunately, Hyogu is becoming a forgotten art in Japan over time.

To keep Hyogu alive, it is essential to preserve traditional expressions while also incorporating new ones.
