I create works using **urushi** (Japanese lacquer), one of Japan's most traditional artistic materials.

My practice is primarily based on an adaptation of the traditional lacquer decoration technique known as *Kawari-nuri* ("transformative coating"). At first glance, my works often appear to be made of leather, wood, or metal; however, every piece is created entirely through traditional lacquer techniques.

Many of my works explore the theme of the "invisible world." By drawing upon human perception, assumptions, and visual illusion, I seek to make the unseen perceptible and invite viewers to reconsider the nature of what they believe they see.
