纏い/Matoi

素材:磁器土、下絵具、釉薬、上絵具

伝統技法「いっちん」を施した磁器の彩色作品。

「いっちん」とは、細い先金をつけたスポイト型の道具から泥漿にした土を絞り出して描く技法である。

本作品は丸や三角、四角を一定の法則で配列している。

轆轤成形した器の全体に隙間なくいっちん技法を施す事で、器が装飾物を纏ったかのような仕上がりを目指した。

「纏い」は刻み込まれた記憶や祈りを身に纏い、編み直し、知らず知らずに連なって行く世界を表現している。

彩色は淡く、そこから見る人々の記憶や祈りが呼び起こされたら嬉しいと思う。

Materials: Porcelain clay, underglaze pigments, glaze, overglaze pigments

A colored porcelain work created using the traditional “Icchin” technique.

“Icchin” is a decorative technique in which liquefied clay slip is squeezed through a dropper-like tool fitted with a fine metal tip to create raised patterns.

In this work, circles, triangles, and squares are arranged according to a consistent pattern.

By applying the Icchin technique seamlessly across the entire wheel-thrown vessel, the artist aimed to create the impression that the vessel is adorned with an ornamental garment.

“Matoi” expresses a world where engraved memories and prayers are worn upon oneself, rewoven, and unconsciously connected over time.
