東京都出身。
5歳より筆を持ち、書家・眞田朱燕に師事。
書を原点としながらも、文字の可読性や意味から解放され、墨・線・余白が持つ純粋な造形美を探求する「墨象（ぼくしょう）」の世界を軸に活動。
2012年に墨象家として独立し、個展での作品発表をはじめ、アートユニット「墨花」での活動、異分野アーティストとの共創を通して、書の新たな可能性を発信している。
作品制作においては、伝統的な書の技法や呼吸を礎としながら、現代のライフスタイルに溶け込む墨の在り方を追求。
同時に、日本各地の伝統産業の現場へと熱心に足を運び、職人たちと共に新しいモノづくりに挑戦。
大阪で95年以上続く草履の老舗「岩佐」や、波佐見焼の窯元、博多織の織元など、職人たちの緻密な手仕事と墨象を融合させることで、現代の感性と結びついた新たな価値を創造している。
墨象を通して、人・地域・文化を繋ぎ、日本の美意識と手仕事の魅力を未来へ伝えていくことをライフワークとしている。
Born in Tokyo, Japan.
She began practicing calligraphy at the age of five under the guidance of calligrapher Shuen Sanada.
Rooted in the tradition of Japanese calligraphy, she explores the world of *Bokusho* (abstract ink art), a form of expression liberated from the readability and literal meaning of characters, focusing instead on the pure visual beauty of ink, lines, and negative space.
In 2012, she established herself as an independent Bokusho artist. Since then, she has presented her work through solo exhibitions, collaborated as a member of the art collective *Bokka*, and engaged in cross-disciplinary projects with artists from diverse creative fields, continually expanding the possibilities of contemporary calligraphy.
Her artistic practice is grounded in the traditional techniques and rhythmic discipline of calligraphy while seeking new ways for ink art to harmonize with modern lifestyles.
At the same time, she actively visits traditional craft communities throughout Japan, collaborating closely with artisans to develop innovative works that bridge heritage and contemporary design.
Her collaborations include *Iwasa*, a long-established Osaka-based footwear maker with more than 95 years of history, as well as kilns specializing in Hasami ware and workshops producing Hakata-ori textiles. By integrating the meticulous craftsmanship of these artisans with Bokusho, she creates new expressions that resonate with contemporary sensibilities.
Through Bokusho, she regards it as her lifelong mission to connect people, communities, and culture while preserving and passing on the beauty of Japanese aesthetics and traditional craftsmanship to future generations.
