Hakata-ori Obi Panel “Iroha ni Hoheto”
Green Pheasants
Product Information
This panel artwork features the phrase “Iroha ni Hoheto,” rendered in an ink-inspired textile design woven in Hakata-ori.
Commissioned from Seikado, a century-old atelier in Osaka, this double-sided panel was created through repeated experimentation and refinement.
While traditionally only the front surface of a textile would be displayed, this work also allows appreciation of the reverse side, where the colors appear inverted—an inherent characteristic of woven textiles.
With a thickness of 4 cm, the panel is self-standing and can be displayed without wall mounting or nails.
