Fly Beyond the Boundaries

This work is formed by suspended motifs created with rare washi thread, shaped through traditional handmade washi techniques.

The pieces are dyed using a diverse range of materials, including indigo, madder, and watercolor paint, and are further enhanced with delicate accents of silver leaf and mineral pigments.

It is created through Akatsuki’s original sculptural expression, which applies Japanese painting techniques to handmade washi, a traditional Japanese craft.

Transcending the act of weaving motifs, this work sculpts space itself.

When inner light becomes manifest and awareness is attained, it takes flight into the sky.
