“Fuji” by Keisaku Kishino

A collaborative work with my father, a Japanese-style painter. The Mount Fuji depicted in ink is mounted with shokubutsu fabric known as ginran, which incorporates silver threads, and is framed with a finely cut textile called takeya-machi-gire, a rare fabric in which thin strips of gold leaf are inserted into the coarse weave of silk to create patterns. 【Message】 Works drawn solely in ink, like calligraphy, are limited to black and white tones. This allows a wide range of compatibility when selecting surrounding textiles, but at the same time, the combination of fabrics greatly influences the overall impression of the work. The piece is arranged so that Mount Fuji in falling snow appears even more majestic.
