日本画家の父との合作です。

墨で描かれた富士山に、銀襴という銀の糸を織り込んだ裂地、作品の周りを囲うように細く竹屋町裂と言われる、細く切った金箔を粗い絹の目に差し込んで模様を出す貴重な裂地を使っています。

 

This work is a collaboration with the artist's father, a Nihonga (Japanese-style) painter.

The ink-painted Mount Fuji is complemented by ginran, a luxurious brocade woven with silver threads. Surrounding the artwork is a narrow border made from Takeyamachi-gire, a rare traditional textile created by inserting thin strips of gold leaf into the coarse weave of silk to form intricate patterns.

父が日本画画家であることが影響してか、書家を志して大東文化大学書道学科に入学しました。
入学してから、同学年の人たちのレベルに驚き、追いつけないと思って別の道を探したとき、表具の世界に辿り着きました。
国宝や重要文化財の修復をする工房や奈良県の東大寺に出入りする工房などで7年ほど修行しましたが、新しいものが作りたい気持ちもあり、その後独立しました。
独立後は、多くの現代作家の方と現代に合う表具のあり方を模索したり、茶道や寺院で使われる従来の伝統的な掛け軸も制作しています。

Influenced by my father, a Japanese-style painter, I aspired to become a calligrapher and enrolled in the Department of Calligraphy at Daito Bunka University.

After entering the program, I was struck by the extraordinary skill of my classmates. Feeling that I could not compete along the same path, I began searching for another direction, which ultimately led me to the world of **hyōgu** (the traditional art of mounting and restoring calligraphy and paintings).

I trained for approximately seven years at workshops specializing in the conservation of National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties, as well as at studios entrusted with works for Todai-ji Temple in Nara.

Driven by a desire to create new works rather than solely preserve existing ones, I established my own independent practice.

Today, I collaborate with numerous contemporary artists to explore new possibilities for **hyōgu** that resonate with modern aesthetics, while also producing traditional hanging scrolls for tea ceremony practice and Buddhist temples.
