This work is by calligrapher Mouri Suzuki. The striped fabric used in this piece is an old material about 100 years old. After consulting with Mr. Suzuki, we used some of the fabric he had collected. We hope this hanging scroll enriches the room it is displayed in.

Unfortunately, Hyogu is becoming a forgotten art in Japan over time.

To keep Hyogu alive, it is essential to preserve traditional expressions while also incorporating new ones.
