Lunar Navigation — Compass of Moonlight
暁~AkatsukI~
A wooden base adorned with silver leaf and mica is layered with hand-dyed translucent washi paper.
When illuminated from behind, the material density transforms into a gradient of light, elevating matter into luminosity.
As a metaphor of voyage, aged iron nails function as anchors that cut through space.
The central void is designed as a “port” or “sanctuary” for displaying jewelry.
When backlit, the texture of washi shifts into a golden pathway of navigation.
The jewelry floating at the center becomes a companion for today’s journey—an interwoven link of light that carries hope into tomorrow.
Holding a “lunar compass,” this work invites a journey toward an unseen self.
