This piece, featuring the single kanji character "個" (piece), was written on a 120 × 120 cm sheet of gasen paper and mounted onto a 100 × 100 cm panel.

It is an homage to Franz Kline, one of the leading painters of American Abstract Expressionism, who was influenced by BOKUSYO (ink abstraction).
I focused on the depth and nuances of the black that only ink can produce, with its bleeding and brush strokes that cannot be replicated in oil painting.
Instead of filling the background with white, I left intentional blank spaces.
I hope you can feel the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi in this piece, which may appear as an abstract painting.
As for my work, I don’t want to create pieces driven by my ego or impulsiveness.
Instead, I aim to create works that can deeply resonate with and linger in people’s hearts.
