[Announcement] New artwork is available

We are pleased to announce the release of an exquisite art series by the mounting artist, KISHINO Den. He was awarded the Excellence Award in the Japan Wabunka Grand Prix 2023.

KISHINO Den, influenced by his Nihonga painter father, aspired to become a calligrapher and enrolled in the Calligraphy Department at Daito Bunka University. Overwhelmed by his peers' skill level, he explored different paths and discovered Hyogu (mounting). After seven years of training in workshops that restore national treasures, including those at Todaiji Temple, he became independent. Now, he collaborates with contemporary artists to explore modern Hyogu forms and creates traditional hanging scrolls for tea ceremonies and temples. KISHINO is dedicated to preserving this cultural heritage by balancing traditional and new expressions in his work.

In addition to showcasing his Hyogu(mounting) works, we have also established a contact form for consultations on calligraphy and painting restoration.
